French Subtitles

Prefers embedded HLS French CC/SME/VF tracks, then searches SubtitleCat for movies and TV episodes.

French subtitles are best-effort.

CC/SME/VF tracks are labelled French [VF - CC / Dubtitle]. Normal French tracks are labelled French (VOSTFR / Source). Matching a French dub word-for-word is not guaranteed.

How it works

  1. Stremio sends an IMDb, FrenchStream, or FrenchManga item ID.
  2. The addon reads the stream addon's HLS masters and extracts French subtitle tracks.
  3. CC/SME/VF-tagged tracks are prioritized and labelled [VF - CC / Dubtitle].
  4. If no tagged embedded track exists, it falls back to SubtitleCat, or OpenSubtitles v3 when an API key is configured.
  5. The selected subtitle is proxied and converted to WebVTT.
